In fall 1993, we (Hermann-Josef Gördes and myself) went a second time to the Hardangervidda/Norway. We already made a first attempt two years earlier, where a "late-fall" tour converted to a "middle-of-the-winter" tour within two days 8-) Therefore, we went a little bit earlier this time (late August/early September instead of late September), and experienced a very neat hiking tour. We started and finished in Finse, and encircled the Hardangerjökull clockwise in 11 days (approx 250km). The tour is pretty obvious when looking at the Hardangervidda overview map. We took the standard hiking trail, which are well marked with red T's. For more info, you can contact the norwegian hiking club Den Norske Turistforening (DNT). Except the first and the last (hiking-)day, all tours are "full day tours":

26/8-1993: flight to Oslo, train Oslo-Finse (~5 hrs).

27/8-1993: Finse - Finnsbergvatnet

28/8-1993: Finnsbergvatnet - Holmetjvatnet

29/8-1993: Holmetjvatnet - lake 1224m near Skierhölnuten

30/8-1993: Skierhölnuten - Kagelitjvatne (near Sandhaug)

31/8-1993: Kagelitjvatne - Ambjørsvatnet (near Litlos)

01/9-1993: Ambjørsvatnet - lake at 1387m near Torehytta

02/9-1993: Torehytta - lake at 1000m near Stavali hut

03/9-1993: Stavali - Haerdalsvedal near Dalamot

04/9-1993: Haerdalsvedal - lake at 942m near Liset

05/9-1993: Liset - Rembesdalsseter

06/9-1993: Rembesdalsseter - Finse
